About Kinza

I am another electronic music artist from London, UK. This is my little corner for showing my wares. I also like to supplement the music with images I have captured on my adventures into decay as well as art projects at home ((Click here to go to gallery)) I've been knocking about doing this for a couple of years but decided on starting afresh, just taking the bits I really loved to this, my new home. Its been a wonderful road of experiences. I have released 3 albums, working with the lovely Ominim Records (who have sadly decided shut up shop and move onto doing more exciting things). I have been played on lots of radio including BBC Radio 6, Roundhouse Radio, Flomotion Radio, Resonance FM, BRAP.FM. I've done a couple of radio interviews which have been cringe-worthy to listen to at best, but I did have the opportunity to play a guest mix on brap.fm. My tunes have been entertaining those poor souls up-right-in-a-row on BA flight music channels. I have pressed my buttons for the crowd in a former underground public toilet. I have nearly been beaten off stage with a piñata club by unsophisticated revelers at a secret gig. I had public humiliation in the lovely Sebright Arms. "Kinza is hard to categorize, his music varies in tempo. It can be hectic one moment and uplifting the next, it stutters and starts and changes direction and samples can trip us up and disorientate us. But one thing's for sure, it's very quirky and unique." Please have a listen (and a look) and let me know what you think. Share with those geeky friends you might think will like. Just completed a new EP with Japanese electronica legend Coppe' Currently working on some new stuff for 2017.

Aliases

I have released a number of projects under a different name. I have moved on from this for a number of reasons including wanting to widen my artistic adventures with less restriction.

Gigs-Collabs-Production

I'm only to eager to perform at gigs. I have performed button pressing and video shows in London, including 'Ginglik' in Shepherds Bush and the 'Sebright arms' in Bethnal Green. I'll consider anything and would love to put on a show. Get in touch with me here. I'm always interested in doing some collaboration/remix or production work, please let me know. I have been offered the chance of ghost-writing before but that is far too shady for me (although I guess everyone has their price, right?)

Influences

I can only say that I really like the little bits of Stravinsky, Kate Bush, 808 State, Prince, Yellowjackets, Klaus Wunderlich and Bowie, where things seem to fly off on an acoustic tangent. I love the sound of 2 pieces of music being played at the same time- the discord creates unusual textures of mood....give me 3 or 4 at the same time and it can sound heavenly.....

Photography

I have a desire to witness unseen decaying things. Having to traverse barbed wire and avoid dogs and cameras makes the reward even more sweet. I advise you that you shouldn't try this at home as it has quite a few risks. I'll post images here as I experience them but you can see the collection over here- http://www.kinzamusic.co.uk/kinzagallery

HAPPENINGS…..

Hi,

Been beavering away on a new EP which is finally coming to fruition. In the meantime, my explorations of derelict stuff has had  a real medical theme of late, in the form of a couple of asylums and a medical school.

These particular locations have been spectacular and include treats such as suicide prevention cages, sinister toys, human specimens, the best view in London and peeling paint scales the size of dinner plates.

You can see them in the in the usual place-

ALBUM RELEASE AND THANKS FOR COMING TO THE GIG.

A Little Blue In The Grey Matter
Available to buy now, in Itunes, Bandcamp and a load of other places. All proceeds are going to a charity providing help to the homeless of Gaza.
I have uploaded 3 videos I produced to compliment the tracks

A big thank you to all those who came to the sebright arms last night . It was a great night. Sorry about my initial technical woes. Incredible what trouble and strife a 6.35mm jack lead can cause. (check out the videos above of ‘Triptych’ and ‘[H+] For Paul’, thats how they were meant to sound). Once I got over that, I hope you were able to take your fingers out of your ears and enjoy the rest of my button pressing. Brilliant work by all the other performers.
Also a big thanks to the wonderful and dedicated Ginny Terry of Beat Unique for putting in all the effort and skill to arrange this.
I hope to do more events soon.

GIG 26.11.14 AND NEW ALBUM 27.11.14

It has been 3 years of fun, under my old name.
Its been a wonderful experience. I have released 3 albums, working with the lovely Ominim (who have sadly decided shut up shop and move on to doing more exciting things).
I have been played on lots of radio including BBC Radio 6, Roundhouse Radio, Flomotion Radio, Radio Valencia, Resonance FM, BRAP.FM. My tunes have been entertaining those poor souls, suffering up-right-in-a-row, on BA flights. I have pressed my buttons for the crowd in a former underground public toilet. I have nearly been beaten off stage with a piñata club by unsophisticated revelers at an unmentionable party. I have done several cringe-worthy interviews and enjoyed making several music videos.
It has been an amazing adventure but it is time to move on to a new project….bringing my old tastes and style to a fresh new home.
I am starting this with 3 items for you
1 Kinza-Sparks of Reminiscence – A free collection of old tracks from my previous work. Download it here. All my older work is available on bandcamp
2 My first album, ‘A little grey in the blue matter’, as Kinza is to be released on 27th November. All proceeds from this album will be going towards helping the orphans of gaza.
3 I am doing a gig at the Sebright Arms in Hackney on the 26th November which will be an audiovisual, button pressing, feast for the eyes and ears. I’ll be playing some of my new tracks there.

Details for these things will all be on my website
www.kinzamusic.co.uk.

I’ve decided to leave my old website in e-stasis as a memory of my previous adventure.

As always, my side interest has been escapades into dereliction and I continue to build my gallery of pictures from decayed and abandoned old sites. This is now at http://www.kinzamusic.co.uk/gallery/
There have been plenty of new locations covered recently including
The magnificent Millenium Mills in East London
The asylum of corridors
The Illicit Gallery
There are lots more new places that I have added, go find them, and a backlog of additions to update in the near future.

I’ve also produced some new videos for the new album. Ill give you the link to the first as a reminder of the new album on the 27th.

So, welcome….and see you at my gig, and buy my new album as it’s all going to a good cause.

PREVIOUS WORKS SALE

Yeah,

Ive put my old works up on sale.

Albums 4 nicker EPs 2 notes and a free remix and compilation album. Go get yours before they are gone!!!

My album is just sitting waiting for those finishing touches.
For the time being enjoy my gallery of the cup factory i have just uploaded.

NEW ALBUM SOON

Been beavering away on the new album and also looking at options for release.
I think it’ll prob self released on bandcamp….let me make a final decision.
Also got to crack on and finish a couple of videos to compliment the tracks. Ill keep you posted.
Hope you have been enjoying the dereliction imagery.

DERELICT CAT LITTER FACTORY

Nestled in the Surrey hillocks is this gargantuan facility for pumping out A1 quality cat litter. Well at least it used to. Now its just a hulking shell with the odd big pipes and machinery
